RECEPTION OF THE HARVESTED GRAPES


- After the harvest and the transportation of the grapes, starts the work in the cellar. The gate of the trailer is opened so that the juice can flow out. Then the little door of the trailer may be opened.

- the endless screw of the trailer is started, and little by little the harvested grapes are taken out of the trailer. No, you are not colour-blind; these pictures have not been taken the same day and on some of the pictures you see white grapes and on others you see black grapes...

- the grapes fall in an other endless screw that takes them in a de-stalker.

- The de-stalker takes out the stems, that is all the green parts: the frame of the grape. These stems are next spread out in the vineyard to serve as natural manure.

- only the grape berries fall from the de-stalker in the wine tank. Thus the wine gets more suppleness.

- Every night it is a big and boring job to clean up everything, but it has to be done perfectly.

- The wine tanks are filled. Next comes the vinification process.
